HUGS for Hope at St. Michael’s is a really exciting new project. Some thoughtful ladies at Herefordshire and Ludlow College saw their chance to make a difference to our families and the results of their work have been phenomenal. Tracy Hughes has written a short blog post describing the journey of HUGS.
Hope is working at St Michael’s Hospice, Herefordshire to deliver its Children and Young People’s Support Services.
Earlier this month, BPS Research Digest editor Christian Jarrett (@Psych_Writer) wrote about the shock and fear experienced by children when the dreadful news arrives that their brother or sister has cancer.
Earlier this month we launched a brand new online group to support year 10’s and 11’s through their GCSEs when a close family member has a life-threatening illness. We were thrilled to see that the BBC have recognised the importance of this type of support and have since announced their own peer-to-peer coaching network called The Mind Set.
